Here's another photo of my new dreads i've started, using the tam-rubbing method, and applying beeswax/honey.

Nice dreads. I never thought the beanie thing worked. Interesting.

It's great having long hair that doesn't go in your eyes, isn't it?

Yep, you can use any tam/woolly had to make 'em :tmnt1:

Normally my hair does go in my eyes :(

But now it's locking up, it shortens it by 50% :P

Got some proper DreadHead Wax today too :D

I think the dreadhed wax is poo. It smells damn good though. Keep using honey. More natural.

LOL, yeah - I originally wanted natural dreads (using the neglect method, and maybe some honey and hemp to help) but I guess I didn't want to get labelled 'honey-head' and loose my job :(

And besides, the DreadHead wax does lock it faster... :tmnt1:

Ah, a job. I was a bit worried what the reaction to my dreads would be too. Luckily I didn't get sacked or anything. If I did, I would have sued.

Btw, how do you use the wax, do you rub it into all over the dreads, or just the tips? I just do the tips, but did cover my dreads with the stuff at first. Trouble is, now some of my dreads are full of wax and I can't get the damn stuff out.

Well, I did alot of research before I put it in, on the DreadHead website. I worked the wax in at the roots, then up to the tip. Then I use a hairdryer to help work it in there. Now they're alot tighter :santa:

But do they blow freely in the wind or are they candles? Some of my dreads are pretty mush like candles.
DreadHead is a great site, but I wanted natty dreads, not perfectly coiffured ones like the ones shown on the site.

LOL, they're a bit waxy at the moment, which is uncomfortable :(

But I understand what you mean : all those backcombers who neatly section their hair, are a bit sheek. My dreads are all different sizes now, I guess I prefer the full rasta-mane look. Some of the kids on that site only have dreads because nu-metal fad-stars like KoRn and Slipknot have them, and usually their mommies get them to cut their hair off! But then again, it's good they do use the DreadHead wax, because without it, they'd put toothpaste in their hair!
